Occupational Health Manager
Responsibilities:
• Lead, coordinate and supervise with Human Resources Manager, ASHI Manager and Medical External Consultants the evaluation and execution of the Occupational Medicine Program and The Medical Assistance Activities of the company.
• Plan, organize, administer and manage all Health, Safety and Emergency Medical Response Operations including management of budget, personnel, supplies, equipment, structures and compliance/enforcement of regulations, policies and procedures alignment with corporate policies and management standards.
• Ensure that effective risk management programmes are developed, to identify hazards and their effects, and takes necessary measures to reduce those identified risks.
• Carries out studies on Occupational Health matters related to the corporation activities and sets goals and objectives to continuously improve the overall operational performance in line with corporate policies and management standards.
• Plans and coordinate the provision of adequate safety and accident prevention coverage throughout the various operational areas.
• Participate in the operational area activity audits, accident investigations, facility inspections and safety meetings.
• Coordinate and lead health and safety activities providing strategic advice on all aspects of company-wide health issues as requested and focusing on prevention through health risk identification and health monitoring, as well as appropriate responses.
• Supervise and review day to day activities including external appointments, emergency attention, evaluation of the registered cases in the local medical centers, daily log with the information of the accidents and diseased cases, monthly morbidity report with the respective epidemic analysis, recommendations and documentation to compliance with the labor and health laws.
• Establish the process of environment and personal monitory, execution, implementation and development of the specific risk programs, analysis of the work positions with the purpose to minimize the risk and follow up the recommendations carried out in health and personal protection.
• Coordinate audits to the contractor’s medical services and their hygiene and basic healing program.
• Follow up of the restricted Work and Lost Time cases, assistance to Labor Relations on cases with claims, Classification of the Labor Accident Cases.
• Responsible for evaluating medical insurance policies and to provide guidance and strategies to Human Capital organization in the portfolio of personnel insurance.
• Prepare and review health preventive activities as a vaccinations, medical certificates issuance, health vrouchours hand out, and blood pressure, obesity and cardiovascular control programs.
• Coordinate educational activities in occupational health topics training for all personnel.
• Generate, evaluate, approve and administer the Company Occupational Health program.
• Evaluate Contractors Occupational Health programs and personnel, work procedures, others.

An Orinoco Strategic Association for the Construction of the refinery.
Occupational M.D Leader of the Petrozuata Project. Responsibilities during the project:
• Prepared a complete medical service for emergencies attention for the own personnel and contractors for a total of 6000 workers.
• Prepared and elaborated all the contingency plans adapted to the local medical services.
• Had been in charge of the pre-employee and post-employee exams for 12.000 workers and manage of statistical of accidents. During this period we received in two opportunities the Conoco President's Safety & Occupational Health Award of world category to have those but statistical drops of accidents in project.
• Identified and evaluated the rate for injuries and illnesses in order to prevent serious accidents during the construction of the Coker plant by focusing on eliminating hazards associated with falls, electrical, struck by, and caught by/in-between dangers.
• Performed external audits for the contractor’s medical services following procedures and policies of the company.
• Supported the use of 100 per cent conventional fall protection systems where employees work in excess of six feet above a lower level, including steel erection; and, providing training for employees on hazards specific to their jobs.
